Development and Characterization of Telemetry Circuit For Sol-Gel Sensors

The goal of the project is to implement a RFID-like telemetry device to measure the impedance of sol-gel sensors, whose target application is building corrosion monitoring. The functionality of the designed device includes: 1) measuring the resistance of the sol-gel sensor and digitizing the measured resistance to 9-bit digital data; 2) harvesting energy from RFID reader signals and wirelessly sent the data to the reader via back-scattering. The design and layout of the circuit have been almost completed by previous research efforts. The work for the current proposed year is to fabricate the design using a 0.13u CMOS technology and characterize the performance the fabricated circuit.
